Can you get essay feedback in another language? Yes — here's how

If you write essays in Spanish, French, German, Portuguese or Italian — whether for a modern-languages course or because you study in that language — most feedback tools quietly assume English. That leaves you translating your own work, or reading feedback in a second language. It doesn't have to be that way.

Marking is not translation

This is the important distinction. A translation tool rewrites your words into another language. Marking reads what you wrote and judges it against a rubric — it never rewrites your essay. So a French essay marked against a French rubric stays entirely in French: the criteria keep their original wording, the evidence quoted back to you is your own sentences, and only the feedback is written in the language you choose.
